Widell Websites - Getting Started
Following one or two "design sessions" to determine your website requirements and goals, we will prepare a "first draft" website for your review. Once we know the
general scope of your requirements we will give you an estimate of the Getting
Started Cost. If you agree to the amount, we then begin a
repetitive process of adding pages, revising pages, changing colors, adding or subtracting borders, etc. Once
you have the website you want, we go live.
The "Getting Started" cost is is a one-time fee paid upon "going live" with your site on the Internet. Typical sites, as shown in the examples, ranged from $500 to $4,500 to get started. Ongoing maintenance charges are separate (see below).
This fee does not include the cost of obtaining the domain name (your xxxx.com name) and the annuall cost of hosting the site using a Hosting Service (like GoDaddy.com or other hosting services). These fees vary slightly but typically run from $100 to $150 for the first year. We take care of all the details, pay for these services, and then invoice you, documenting all charges.
On-Going Maintenance of Website
For ongoing maintenance after going live we charge $45/hour. Using email or phone, you keep us informed of your desired changes. We make the changes (usually within 24 hours) and keep a detailed record of the time spent on each change. At the end of each month you will receive a detailed invoice showing each requested change and the time spent for that change. Invoices are sent out on the 1st of the month for the previous month and are due by the 15th.
Supplying New Information To Your Website
Some of our church clients will send weekly bulletins or monthly newsletters from which we can pull all needed information to update their website. The realtors send detailed emails documenting sales or new listings, often with 40 or 50 photos of the property. In the case of more stable sites, like the Bed & Breakfast, very few changes are required on a regular basis. We will work with your updates in any way that's most convenient to you.
